Apply Filters

It is possible to make colour adjustments to the images and objects in a photo product by applying filters. In this way it is possible to make some final adjustments to the contrast, colour and saturation of the objects once they have been placed, without leaving the Saal Digital software.

To apply filters to an object, it is necessary to select it and click on the Filters button that appears on the right, which opens the menu with the different tools.

By changing the value of Brightness it is possible to increase the brightness up to 100, which is the maximum white point, or to decrease it up to -100, which is the maximum black point. As well as being applied to images, this can be very useful, for example, to convert a black clipart to white by increasing its brightness to its maximum and vice versa, to convert a white clipart to black by decreasing it.

Changing the contrast value will increase or decrease the contrast of the object, starting from 0, with a minimum value of -200 and a maximum value of 500.Changing the Saturation value will change the colour intensity. Lowering the value to 0 will make the image or object black and white. Saturation can be increased up to 300.

Changing the Hue value changes the tone of the image. This allows you to slightly correct the tone of an image if necessary or create an artistic tone in the photo. The Colour box selects a colour to tint the selected object. The intensity of the colour can be adjusted by changing the values in the Colourization (Opacity) box. By modifying the Hue and Colourization fields, you can change the hue of clipart and texture fill boxes to achieve colour harmony in the design of the photo product.

By default, some filter template options are displayed below the tools. Clicking on them will automatically apply them to the selected object. If you click on the Random button in the top menu, all parameters are randomly selected. This is very useful to get a creative result or to inspire editing. In both cases it is possible to make changes to the automatically adjusted parameters. Pressing the Reset button will return the object to its original values.

As with frames, masks and shadows, once set, filters can be applied to multiple objects at once. You can apply them to all objects on the current page or to all elements in the project by clicking the To all button.
