Legal Framework

The legal information provided on this website is intended for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. For specific legal questions or concerns, we recommend consulting a qualified attorney or tax advisor.

Product Liability Act

At Saal Photo Portal, we automatically assume product liability according to the Product Liability Act (ProdHaftG) since we issue invoices on behalf of Saal Digital Fotoservice GmbH. Additionally, manufacturer information is provided on the packaging label as required by the ProdHaftG regulation.

The product description and the essential properties for safety evaluation, as prescribed by Article 9 number (2), are implemented and published through the product description and features in the product configurators.

Unlike other shop systems where invoices are issued in the photographer's name and the shop is operated entirely on a whitelabel basis—which may mean the photographer is liable for product safety—this is not the case with us. By providing manufacturer and invoice details on the invoice and label, product liability remains with us.

Saal Photo Portal is GDPR Compliant

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) protects personal data within the EU—both for you as a merchant and your customers. Our shop solution ensures that all data provided by you or your customers (such as personal information or payment data) is securely processed and used exclusively for necessary purposes. If you sell through our system, your customers' data is handled in compliance with GDPR standards. State-of-the-art security measures ensure that all data is protected from unauthorized access.

Small Business Regulation

Saal Digital always invoices your end customers including VAT, as we appear as the contracting partner for the end customer on the invoice, making bookkeeping easier for you. You will receive a credit note from us including VAT. If you wish to receive the credit without VAT due to the small business regulation, please contact us via email. Confirm explicitly via email that you would like to receive your credit without VAT.Important: When setting prices, keep in mind that purchase and sales prices are gross (including VAT), and profits are displayed as gross. If you receive the credit without VAT, the amount displayed in the portal will be paid out minus the VAT.

For specific legal questions or concerns, we recommend consulting a qualified attorney or tax advisor.

Intra-Community Transactions

Once you enter your valid VAT identification number (VAT ID) into our system, it automatically recognizes that it is an intra-community transaction within the EU. In this case, we issue VAT-free invoices and credit notes to you according to EU regulations, as the VAT is reported by you through the reverse charge mechanism in your country. This simplifies tax processing and avoids double taxation.

For specific legal questions or concerns, we recommend consulting a qualified attorney or tax advisor.
